Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Seekers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
